We’re having an issue that’s present when we leave OpenSync running overnight. Occasionally QB is open in the foreground and frozen, often the file is corrupt and needs to be recovered from backup. Often even if QB is not open in the foreground we have issues with user accounts in QB being corrupted. They will attempt to access certain records in the QB file and receive a “Unrecoverable error” and be forced to close QB. There’s no way to resolve this other than deleting the users account and creating a new one. Here’s what we’ve determined.
We can say safely that there’s three factors.
1. It happens overnight, no one gets a corrupt account in the middle of the day.
2. OpenSync is a part of it since when it doesn’t run overnight we don’t have this issue.
3. We have no special procedures or other items happening overnight. No patches or backup jobs are running.
4. We have no tasks in OpenSync that occur ONLY at night. Both tasks are scheduled to occur every 15 minutes 24/7.
Does anyone else have this issue? We can manually start and stop OpenSync daily but that’s not ideal. When we were on QB 15 with OpenSync 2 this was not an issue, it ran for weeks or months without issue. We’re now on the latest QB 18 and latest OpenSync 3.
Can you send me the log files right after it happens please? On the main windows go to Help->Send Diagnostics.
