Must OpenSync be running on the computer that hosts QuickBooks?
I cannot install OpenSync on the server hosting my client’s QB files, the host won’t let me install any software. As far as I can tell that means that I cannot install OpenSync on my SQL server and then have it reach out to my clients server with their Quickbooks files.
Am I missing something?

no, It doesn’t have to be installed on the same computer. It will cause that the tasks will run slower, but you can have it on a separate computer.
So then, I have OpenSync installed on a server here in the office which has QB on it. When I select new company, it tells me to go to the remote screen. But how do I tell OpenSync where the remote server/QB is located. The documentation shows a screen called ‘Application with no certificate’, but I fail to see how I tell OpenSync where this file is actually.

Are on rightnetworks environment? If so, OpenSync doesn’t support it. Sorry for the inconveniences.
