We’re trying to make some bulk changes to the part numbers in a QuickBooks company file with a lot of history in it.
We’ve already identified the list of part numbers to be changed, and have both the before/after list and regular expression to make the change.
We’re concerned about ending up with some “orphaned” references to an old item number. Is there a comprehensive list of tables/fields that reference item/assembly part numbers so we can be sure to update them all?
When you update a parent tables, children get updated as well. To see the relationship please open the Browser.
I’m looking at the Browser in tree view, but there are no child tables under Items.
Obviously there are references using the same item IDs in other tables, such as itemsites. Will *all* references to the item IDs in the items table be updated when that table is changed? Or do they need to be explicitly changed as well–and if so, which tables contain references that need changing?
