Started after updating to OpenSync Ver. 3.0.29.
I open OpenSync and run a task and it runs fine. I then left click on another task and immediately get a pop up error box that says “Unhandled Exception” (see attached screen capture PDF) with the options to “Continue” (even though I have not yet started the task to running) or “Quit”. I click on “Quit” and OpenSync closes. I start OpenSync again and the first task I run works fine but when I click on a second task, the “Exception” error pops up again with the same options.
The attached text file contains the text listed when I click on the “Details” button in the error pop up.
FYI, Operating System: Windows 10. Quickbooks version 2019
I cannot see the attachment. Does it happen when you are running a task?
After opening OpenSync, the first task I run in that session (doesn’t matter which task), runs fine. After first task completes, if I left click on any task I get the error message and I have to quit the program and re-start it to run another task. I get no error while I’m running the first task, but the second task never even gets a chance to run.
Which attachment can you not see? Perhaps I can directly email them to you (which email address?).
I did a “Send Diagnostics” directly from the OpenSync drop down”Help” menu a couple of weeks ago but I got no response.
Yudel, below is the error detail text from the text file I originally attached. Please let me know if you need additional information to help me get this issue fixed.
See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.
For example:
<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging=”true” />
</configuration>
When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.
try re-installing it
Yudel,
Finally got a chance to get back to this issue.
I uninstalled OpenSync and then reinstalled it, but I am still having the same error issue.
I am working on it. I will be releasing a new version with that bug fixed by next week. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Good afternoon – Do you have this fix released? I am having the exact same issue with the unhandled exception.
I haven’t been able to replicate the error on my end. Anything that will give me an idea of how to recreate it.
Yudel,
I have told you the few actions that I perform for this error to occur and sent you the text that is generated when the error occurs. Are there other log files that I can send you? Is there a debug logger that I could install to record the behind the scenes program execution steps? Would you like to remotely access my computer to watch the error occur?
Perhaps the other use, scottjasperse, that is having the same issue can add something to this dialog that would help.
My error looks the same. I have noticed that when I edit a task or add a task in the left pane of the configuration screen I can run it 1 time. Then if I click on anything in that pane I get the Unhandled Exception as indicated. My short-term fix seems to be to reboot the server after editing any task. This seems to allow me to click on any item in that left pane…as well as start a task via a scheduled time.
As long as I don’t have to edit tasks often…I can avoid the error…
Sounds similar scottjasperse. I have not added or edited a task since this update as I am only running tasks that I have been using for years. When I open “OpenSync” I can run one task only and if I try to run a second task I get the error. For my short term fix, I don’t have to reboot the machine, I just have to exit “OpenSync” and restart it and it allows me to run a single task again.
So, it is only happening when you edit the task. I will try to recreate that and I will fix it. Sorry for the inconvenience.
I also get this error when I delete a task and when I delete a Company file. Happening ALL of the time. I have reinstalled OpenSync and I am running version 3.0.29
Having the same issue, anyone have a fix yet?
